The issue 3 ELAN 8x10 datasheet (PMC-970109) and issue 3 errata supersede all prior editions and versions of the datasheet. 1.1 DEVICE IDENTIFICATION The information contained in Section 2 relates to Revision C of PM3350 Elan 8x10 only. The device revision code is marked at the end of the Wafer batch Code on the face of the device (as shown in Fig. 1.1). PM330 Elan 8x10 Revision C is packaged in a 256-pin Ball Grid Array (BGA) package. IEEE 802.1d compliant spanning-tree transparent bridging supported on-chip, with Factory configurable aging time and packet lifetime control. Aging is implemented with released firmware * * * On-chip user Factory enabled backpressure flow control with configurable per-port buffer thresholds and limits. Configuration, management, MIB statistics and diagnostics available in-band (via on-chip SNMP agent with integral TCP/UDP/IP stack) or out of band. Maintains and collects per-port and per-host statistics at wire rates, allowing a network switch comprised of PM3351 and PM3350 chips to implement RMON statistics (EtherStats and HostStats) using supplied on-chip firmware. Note: All other references in the datasheet to the features discussed above should be interpreted to reflect the above comments and edits. 4.2 Firmware Errata Description Firmware does not implement IEEE 802.3 LLC length field consistency checks. Firmware is fully compliant with DIX ethernet.
