BUF-O3 APPLICATIONSINFORMATION OPERATINGTHE BUF-G3AT REDUCED POWER SUPPLIES In most video applications the signal levels are significantly lower than the 20V peak-to-peak capability of the BUF-03. This suggests operating the SUF-03 at reduced power suppJiea; for example. at f:6V supplies :t2V signals can be handled. The obvious advantage of reduced supplies is the accompanying decrease in power pissipation: from a typical 540mW (=30V x 18mA)to 195mW(= 12VX 16.2mA)atf:6V. At lower supply voltages heat sinking Is no longer necessary. However, as shown on the slew rate vs supply voltage curve, HIGH-SPEED 8-BIT AID BUFFER .,5V n'N.c. ~ son OBS AHALOG INPUT ,5\1 +15V 3kn QZ 2N:IIIO6 LOGIC IN HOLO;' 2.1111 slew rate does degrade at lower supplies. This occurs because of higher internal node capacitances at lower voltages and because of the slightlydecreased operating current. -15V DATA 1 MSB , HIGH-SPEED SAMPLE/HOLD AMPLIFIER OLE -,.W CI !IOI>P -!5V .I..
