1?) foll o w e d b y th e ap propri a te o p co de a nd the de sired memory address location. re a d (re a d ) : t he read (read) instructio n contains the addr ess code for the memor y locati on to be read. after the instru ction a nd addr ess are dec od ed, data fr om the se lecte d m e mo r y l o catio n is ava ila ble at the serial o u tput pi n do. output d a ta chan ges ar e s y nc hron iz e d w i th the risin g edg es of serial clock sk. it sh ou l d be noted that a dummy bit (logic ?0?) precedes the 8- or 16-bit data output string. er a s e/write (ewen): t o assure data in tegrit y , the part autom atical l y goes into t he erase/w r ite disabl e (ew d s) state w h e n po w e r is first applie d. an erase/w r ite enab le(ewen) instructi on mu st be exec uted first before a n y pr ogrammi ng in structions can be carried o u t. please not e that once in the ew en state, progr ammin g r e mai n s en ab le d until a n ew d s instructio n is execute d or v cc p o w e r is re moved from th e part. er a s e (er a se): t he erase (erase) instruction programs all bi ts in the specified memor y location to the logic a l ? 1 ? state. t he self-timed eras e c y cle s t arts once the erase inst ruc t ion and addre ss are decoded. t he do pin outputs the read y / bu s y status of the part if cs is broug ht high afte r being ke pt lo w f o r a minim u m of 250 ns (t cs). a log i c ?1? at pin do in dic a tes that the se lecte d memor y locat i on has bee n er ased, a nd th e p a rt is ready for another instruction. write (wr i te): t he w r i t e (w rit e ) instruction contai ns the 8 or 16 bits of data to be w r itten into the specifi ed mem o r y l o catio n . t h e self-timed pr ogrammi ng c y c l e, twp, starts after the last bit of data is received at serial data i nput pi n di. t h e do pin outp u ts the read y/ bus y status of the part if cs i s brought hi gh after bei ng kept lo w for a minimum of 250 ns (t cs). a logic ?0?
