high-speed bipolar de tection type hall ic s-5723a series rev.3.0 _00 seiko instruments inc. 10 2. basic operation the s-5723a series changes the output voltage (v out ) according to the level of the magnetic flux density (n or s pole) applied by a magnet. the following explains the operation when the magnetis m detection logic is ?l? when the s pole is detected. when the magnetic flux density of the s pole per pendicular to the marking surface exceeds b op after the s pole of a magnet is moved closer to the mark ing surface of the s-5723a series, v out changes from ?h? to ?l?. when the n pole of a magnet is moved closer to t he marking surface of the s-5723a series and the magnetic flux density of the n pole is higher than b rp , v out changes from ?l? to ?h?. while the magnetic field is not applied, v out retains the state. when the power is turned on, the output voltage (v out ) is ?h? or ?l?. definition of the magnetic field is performed every operating cycle indicated in ? ? electrical characteristics ?. figure 11 shows the relationship between the magnetic flux density and v out . high-speed bipolar detection type hall ic rev.3.0 _00 s-5723a series seiko instruments inc. 11 ? precautions ? if the impedance of the power supply is high, the ic may malfunction due to a supply voltage drop caused by through-type current. take ca re with the pattern wiring to ensure that t he impedance of the power supply is low. ? note that the ic may malfunction if the power supply voltage rapidly changes. ? do not apply an electrostatic discharge to this ic that exceeds the performance ratings of the built-in electrostatic protection circuit. ? large stress on this ic may affect on the magnetic c haracteristics. avoid large stress which is caused by bend and distortion during mounting the ic on a board or handle after mounting. ? when designing for mass production using an application circuit described herein, the product deviation and temperature characteristics of the external parts shou ld be taken into consideration. sii shall not bear any responsibility for patent infringements related to products using the circuits described herein. ? sii claims no responsibility for any disputes arising ou t of or in connection with any infringement by products including this ic of patents owned by a third party.
